Summer in the French Alps

The surrounding high mountain cols open in the summer months to offer spectacular views, wonderful wildlife and an array of plants, berries and wild alpine flowers. Temperatures are ambient and the air fresh and pure, so it is perfect for summer walking especially as the chalet is on the famous Haute Tarentaise walking route.

For those that enjoy other active sports the list is comprehensive. Each day offers a new adventure whether it be climbing, via ferrata, or an exhilarating mountain bike ride. There's also golf, tennis, horseback riding, swimming and kayaking. It really is the ideal getaway for families and groups with plenty on offer for all ages.

Summer is also the time when the high mountain roads through to Italy open up to offer full days out with plenty of stops to enjoy delicious wines, cured hams, pasta lunches and Italian ice cream. There's also no shortage of local summer concerts, fêtes, wine fairs and markets. It is a time to sit at cafes under sun umbrellas and watch the activity around you whilst enjoying locally produced fare.
