By Road

From Bourg-saint Maurice it's about a 25-30 minute drive. You leave Bourg-Saint-Maurice in the direction of Val D'isere/Tignes and pass through the village of Seez and then about 8Km later you pass through the village of Sainte-foy heading towards the Sainte-foy "ski station". 1.2km after leaving the Sainte-foy village, you'll come to two "hairpin" corners. The first one is to the left, and the second one to the right. 50 meters after taking the 2nd hairpin, there is a turn off to the left which you should take which will bring you up to the chalet. This turnoff can be positively identified as it has a mirror on the right side of the road heading to Val D'isere (D902)

After taking the turnoff and leaving the main road, it's about 4Km up to the chalet. You bear to the right after about 400 meters from the main road, following the signpost to "Le Planay". About 1km after taking the turn you come across your first hairpin turn (which is to the right as you go up) and you'll need to take the next left 50 meters after this turn. Note: In winter the road leading straight on at this junction is closed, it should not be attempted if "Route Barre" is in place. From here it's 2km to the chalet and you will have 5 more hairpin corners to take. As you come into "Le Planay" there will be a little signpost on the right side of the road letting you know, and Chalet Emily is one of the first places on the right as you come into the hamlet. Snow tyres and chains may be required if it's been snowing recently. .

For those people who have GPS unit's in the car, the chalet is located at N 45 35' 37.6" E 006 53' 48.1" at 1530 meters elevation.

WINTER ROAD CLOSURE People coming from Geneva may well be tempted to take the Mt Blanc tunnel and come over the St Bernard's pass. Unfortunately in Winter this pass is closed (it's actually a ski run for the ski resort of "La Thuile"), so you need to come via Albertville/Annecy if coming from Geneva. In summer the pass is open to traffic and very picturesque, but at other times of the year please check in advance that the pass is indeed open before leaving Geneva if you'd like to head this way.

Please Note

Wherever possible we would like to advise against scheduling your arrival and departure on Saturdays. Traffic queues into and out of the valley make traveling on Saturdays interminable rather than impossible, and we would like to help you have an excellent time every day and keep time spent in transfer to a minimum.
